DayZ server issues

dayz downDayZ server is down. There seems to be a unknown issue keeping many players from joining the server. We will be getting the server back up as soon as we can.

I will post more info as we have it.

Space Engineers Update [1.040] – Pistons, Blast door blocks

The Space Engineers Server has been updated to 1.040. This update adds much anticipated Pistons, as well as some net code fixes. With this update floating objects should cause less lag.

Blast doors are also added with this update.

Kerbal Space Program: [0.24] First Contract

Kerbal Space Program has added the new Contract system into the game, as well as updating the client to 64-bit. Both are larg steps for the game and should help with fun and stability.

With the contract system you will have to be careful on how expensive your rocket is, how much fuel you use, and how much of your ship you are able to recover at the end of the mission. Contracts introduce funds into the game as well as a reputation system, so if you loose a lot of Kerbals, you could loose a lot of rep. Some contracts have deadlines, so watch out for those.

If you don’t want to use the Contract system, there is a option to continue with the old system without contracts when creating a new game.

The client has also been updated to 64-bit. This means running plugins and mods should run with better stability, and overall performance should improve since the client is not as limited in its memory usage.

This update brings some changes to the UI, new rocket parts, updated parts, and updates to the Tech Tree as well.

Space Engineers Update [1.039] – Batteries, Antenna Communication, etc

Looks like a really good update this time. Few things the community has been wanting (Batteries, solar cells more powerful and cheaper, and of course bug fixes.) The server has now been updated to this update, and is ready for use.

They are also working on player communication, so we can probably expect it to tie into the new antenna system. To get a better understanding of the antenna system you might want to watch the video.

– battery block for small and large grids
– solar panels are now little cheaper and much more efficient
– communications relay (signal can travel through multiple antennas; you can receive a signal from any distance, broadcasting can be limited by player or by power of the antenna)
– small ship antenna has now max. range of 5000 m

– new world setting: permanent death can be turned off (client still owns his stuff after respawning in the rescue ship)

Space Engineers Update [1.038] – steering wheels, wheel controls

New update pushed to the server. Some good stuff, some annoying stuff with this update.

The good will be listed in the patch note (Real working wheels, hint hint)

The bad is that beacons now require more power. So watch your beacon range, it will affect power usage. They can no longer be powered with just two solar panels now at full range. This also means the navigation beacons we have setup on the server will be needing upgrades.

You will now be able to search for things in inventory by name, but the downside seems to be that it no longer puts the thing your looking at, at the top of the list. This has been reported and hopefully it will get fixed.

As of this post there are no other things, other than the usual stuff, that we need to be careful of in this update. If we find anything else we will post it on the forums.

Space Engineers server has been updated to the new patch. The big thing on this update are Factions. For more details on how they work, check out the video.
