SSX Story: 8/10
The basis of the story is to go around globe-hopping to conquer the 9 Deadly Descents and to conquer the main opponent of team SSX: Griff Simmons. You can go to places like Siberia, Patagonia, and Antarctica. Not much more to it.
Gameplay/Controls: 9.5/10
The gameplay is amazing. It's just like the old times, but with amazing new terrain. You get the chance to use things such as the wingsuit or the ice axes. The game might be intimidating at first because it goes a bit faster than the other games. The control scheme has been revamped since I last played SSX 3. It feels a little more... natural. It took a little getting used to. There was a definite learning curve, retraining myself to use the new controls.
Sound: 9/10
Finally! They use the 'Tricky' meter instead of the old 'Uber' Meter! The Tricky meter first appeared in SSX Tricky, and when you fill up the boost bar, it played 'It's Tricky' by Run-DMC. Also, there is a wide variety of music that plays while you're riding down the slopes of Mt. Everest.
Graphics: 10/10
Really? A 10/10? You've gotta be kidding me! No. This game has earned it. The graphics are beautiful, especially in HD. You would have to see it for yourself to believe me.
Replay Value: 9/10
With PSN or XboxLive, you can connect to RiderNet, which uses your friends list to give you a challenge once you have beaten the story mode. Your friends have a bounty of 10,000 credits (not too much). When you beat them, then they can beat you and then the cycle keeps going. Also, on Explore Mode, you can find Geotags that random players have placed in usually hard to reach places. You may also place geotags yourself.
Overall: 9/10
If you are iffy on buying this, go buy it anyway. You will love it. Trust me on this one.
