Sauerland is a map that is approx 3 times larger than Chernarus, at 655 sq.km, versus Chernarus at 225 sq.km. {Link to the official site} The largest city here, Meschede, is also about 3-4x the size of Chernogorsk; I had done a little run from Pobeda Bay, very north, all the way down to Chernogorsk and back, with an Armored SUV, and used half of a fuel tank. This would give a much larger use to fuel trucks and whatnot, and also a lot of traveling to do to get to oneanother. I suppose this could stay around for a while, so everyone can get a feel of what the map would be like. From what I understand, DayZ Epoch already includes this map, so no download from clientside is needed; this information came from the Epoch Wiki, under 'Included Custom Islands.' tl;dr: Lets give Sauerland a shot? |

Already planned. Still trying to work out the current issues with the chern server. Also a new data base will have to be made, and all the current mods need to be reworked/tested on the new map. Arma is not gmod. We can't switch maps on the fly. I'm looking forward to a new map. I will wait for players to get a little bored of chern. When this happens the server will go down for a half of a day, while it's being set up. The server will also be locked. |
