[HP ZR2740w IPS Monitor] [NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460] recently got a new monitor, the one named above, and up until today, it's been fine. here's my problem. I tried hopping on the gmod server to play on the build, i was messing with some video settings for it, decided on one (still working monitor), and i join the server. it gets to sending client info and stops responding. then when i ctrl-alt-delete, it makes a wierd display error, i tried recording it with a video recorder (bandicam) and it did not show up at all, it looked fine, leading me to believe it was a monitor issue. to explain it best i can; it picks a random spot, and it fades rather quickly in a knit/grid type fashion, it's pretty wierd. i opened my computer to check on the video card, just in case, and it was totally fine. checked all the cords, everything is fine. i even took out the DVI cord and blew on it like an old n64 cartridge. other info that may help: -the only current fix for it is to tilt/rotate the screen, or scroll/select tons of things -it does not go 'turned off screen' black, more like 'loading screen' black, then after about 20 seconds of 'loading screen black' it turns to 'turned off screen black' -the status light turns off at random while the screen is black.the light stays off until it's restarted, even though the screen still is able to recover back into working order -another fix, is to keep the screen brightness at very high, which i hate to do ; ocd the only reason i'm concerned with this is because it's a 400 dollar monitor my father got as a gift to me, i would hate for it to fry and have to throw it away after, what, 2 weeks? |

Sounds like a Vard or Computer issue than a Monitor issue. Keep in mind the monitor does not really do anything but displayes what the video card sends to it. Kind of like a TV would not be at fault for a error on your DVD player. Also, if you have the same problem with two different monitors, that leaves the common factor as the computer. |
