So i have been gone for quite a while, lots of rl stuff to deal with and moving, what has happened to the Tekkit server? Would it be possible to get a new one up? I wouldnt mind starting over. Mostly me and a friend (not on the site currently) wants to play on a server together. |

Server activity dropped to about one person, other than me, logging in once every few weeks. The server was unfortunately costing too much to maintain for such a low amount of activity. The downside of Tekkit, and other highly modded minecraft builds is that they use alot of resources. Originally I was going to shut the server down completely, but since its only a couple of dollars more to run a vanilla 10 slot server on top of the mumble server I decided to keep it up. If there was enough interest in a Tekkit server I would see about starting another one. Right now the two issues with running one is activity and money. I believe the server was costing me about 30 or so a month before I downgraded it. Server hosting can get rather expensive, especially when its just me paying for them. Currently I cover the Mumble server, Minecraft server, PNRP Gmod Server, GMod build server, and web hosting. Metroidfighter covers the VPS. This runs the Space Engineers Server, DayZ Epoch server, and the 7DTD (down till the update) Oh, the issues is not how many slots, the problem is, is the amount of ram needed for the server. |
